SPECIALISING IN NURSING & RESIDENTIAL CARE IN NOTTINGHAM

In March 2020 Connect House had a new manager appointed whose personal beliefs echoed the ethos and vision for the home. Having previously worked within the group of homes in Care Co-ordination and Operational roles as well as a Staff Trainer, Helen was already familiar with Connect House as a service.

Helen has a background in Adult Nursing and worked previously as an RGN in Haematology, Care of the Elderly and for a time, at a Care Agency to widen her experiences in differing Healthcare settings.

Helen also has a BSc in Dementia Studies and an MSc in Advanced Dementia Studies.

Helen is a keen innovator of practice and has introduced new learning and staff training methods with a bigger focus on Kinesthetic Learning which places a focus on carrying out physical activities, rather than listening to a lecture or watching a demonstration. Staff have embraced these new ways of developing practice with a consistent uptake in training opportunities.

In the role of Registered Manager, Helen has been the driving force behind changing the staff structure and development of staff roles which reflect the needs of the home and staff feelings of value and purpose, redecoration and enhancement of the environment and the increase in resources including the innovative virtual reality headsets, interactive table and the Well Being Team and the drive and motivation of the home to strive for excellence in care delivery with an understanding of person centred care and the value of new approaches and all round quality care.

This would not be possible without not only the continued support of the whole team at Connect House, but in particular, the Deputy Manager Linsey, who moved into the role in 2022 and has made it her own ever since. Linsey shares the vision for Connect House and continually strives to bring innovation and compassion to her role.

Linsey is a Qualified Nurse (RGN) with a background in Care of the Elderly. Linsey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role and is a support to both resident’s and our nursing team.
